Generative AI (GenAI) models and algorithms show promise in designing and optimizing lead candidates with desirable drug-like properties and for exploring complex biology and expansive chemical space. However, do we fully understand their scope, impact, and nuances for early drug discovery applications? Cambridge Healthtech Institute’s symposium on Generative AI for Drug Discovery will bring together key stakeholders from pharma/biotech companies, technology providers, and academia to discuss what is currently being done and what is possible in the near future. These discussions on applications of GenAI are a good primer for the AI/ML for Early Drug Discovery conferences that follow.
Coverage will likely include:
- De novo small molecule design: Progress on AI-generated drug candidates
- Performance and scalability of generative AI models for designing large molecules
- Multi-Parameter lead optimization using genAI predictions
- Closed loop generative discovery for Design-Make-Test-Analyze (DMTA) integration

The deadline for priority consideration is October 5, 2026.
All proposals are subject to review by session chairpersons and/or the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program.
